Rock FM Loves Milkmen!
Holme Farm Dairies’ campaign to save Lancashire’s milkmen from extinction goes from strength to strength.
Holme Farm Dairies milkmen have helped to raise over £300 for Cancer Research and Help a Local Child at a fun filled family event on Preston Flag Market.
Holme Farm Dairies and Rock FM’s Street Team gave the Flag Market a farmyard setting with baby calves, lots of straw and a Rodeo Bull with hundreds of people soaking up the sun and atmosphere.
For a small donation shoppers took part in the Holme Farm Dairies Rodeo Challenge and took away a goody bag filled with dairy goodness!*
Shoppers were also invited to guess how many plastic milk cartons the average family uses each year. The winners, Alex Harwood and Rebecca Leonard both from Preston, guessed correctly at 720 and will now receive £50 cash each!
By signing up to a daily doorstep delivery of glass milk bottles instead of plastic milk bottles people can reduce the amount of plastic waste sent to landfill each year.
* Goody bags contained a pint of Holme Farm Dairies milk, a carton of cream, a sample of cheese, eggs, Warburton crumpets and Yakult pens!
Thank you to Dave Jones from DSJ Photography, Eagle Moss books, Richard Thompson packaging, Jenny Watson for her home baked cakes and all the Holme Farm Dairies milkmen and women and their customers for helping with the organisation of the event.
